Graftys provides scientific knowledge and manufacturing services in order to design and develop custom designed synthetic biomaterial components.
Our R&D skills allow us to design several types of biomaterials with different shape, composition, bone scaffold, and mechanical properties specifically for your lumbar and cervical cage fusion.
Graftys currently offers several mono-phasic and bi-phasic ceramic options:
Composition
• 100% β-TCP: often used as insert for fusion cages
• 60% HA & 40% β-TCP
• 55% HA & 45% β-TCP
• 6
5% HA & 35% β-TCP
Physicochemical properties
Total porosity : 40%, 50%, 60% & 70% of porous shared by macroporosity, mesoporosity & microporosity
Mechanical properties : 8Mpa to32Mpa
| Advantages | Benefits | |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | Perfect fit between cage and bone insert |
Safety and efficiency and time-saving in operating room |
| Composition | Adaptation to resorption/substitution kinetics |
Adaptation to surgical site |
| Porous structure and mechanical properties | Adaptation of mechanical strength and cell colonization rate |
Adaptation to surgical site |
The cage inserts are intended to provide support for bone fusion in spine arthrodesis.
