GRAFTYS Research and Development capabilities, along with our deep portfolio of intellectual property represent major assets for the company.

GRAFTYS has demonstrated rapid progress on high potential projects. This was achieved by assembling leading experts in each field. Our technical achievements include:

  • Optimization of the porous architecture and mechanical properties of calcium-phosphate bioceramics.
  • Development of injectable resorbable materials which harden in situ, allowing minimally invasive surgery.
  • Design of bioinorganic materials with wider functionalities, allowing the controlled release of therapeutic agents. These "intelligent" bone substitutes tackle major health issues: Post-operative intraosseous pain management, the prevention of infections and the prevention of osteoporotic fractures.
  • Development of 3D matrices, allowing osteocartilaginous grafts to be grown from adult stem cells.

Each project is led by a diverse task force that includes researchers and cliniciansand is, focused on unmet clinical needs in the orthopaedic and dental markets. Graftys programs are well aligned with evolving market trends such as prevention, minimally-invasive surgery and biological repair.

This research is carried out within a highly efficient technology network involving France's main healthcare research organizations (Inserm (the French National Institute for Healthcare and Medical Research), CNRS (the French National Centre for Scientific Research), AP-HP, AP-HM, ONIRIS Veterinary School of Nantes) and which is backed by the ANR (French National Research Agency) and OSEO Innovation.
